THE HISTORY OF
FAITH IN CHRIST EVANGELICAL LUTHERAN CHURCH
The roots of Faith in Christ run deep in the Springfield, Ohio area. Planted with prayer over 125 years ago. St. Luke Lutheran was first, being established in 1888. St. Luke was located at 126 North Race Street. In 1900 Calvary Lutheran Church was established. Located at the corner of West High and Shaffer Street. From those two congregations rich in faithful witness Faith Lutheran Church was born in 1978.
In 1966 a mission congregation was planted on the north side of Springfield in Northridge. Christ Lutheran was the name of the mission. Christ Lutheran Church would build in 1969.
In 1988 Christ Lutheran Church of Northridge with Faith Lutheran Church would come together and form the ministry of Faith In Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church.
In 2011 Faith in Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church celebrated becoming a Charter Member of the North American Lutheran Church.
Faith in Christ has been faithfully witnessing through the years to the truth that Jesus Christ is Lord and Savior. Beginning in the late 1800' and through the 1900's. Now in the 2000's we are entering a third century of ministry! You are invited to come along with us and together spread the Word of the Living God for generations to come!
